One thing that I have found during this time apart from David is how much he means to me. When together there are moments of irritation that cause people to push what matters most aside. I don't believe David and I do that. In our marriage, each time we are together we both try very hard to keep what is important first in our lives. Striving to, even if we are having a bad day, to take it out on the other. Understanding takes a key role in our relationship and without it those special times get lost. I want to take some time to tell you why it is that I love my husband.....
Every day a smile is always on his face. He can turn the saddest moments into something to laugh about. He can make me smile by leaving goofy animal noise on my voicemail to make sure that I am smiling. In hard times he always say's,"i just want to make you happy." He is full of compassion and wisdom. He pushes me to be a better person to those around me. Knowledgeable doesn't even scratch the surface of how smart he is.And he loves to do the ministry of God as much as I do. He brings out a side of me that I never new was there. Spiritually he holds me accountable for my actions and makes sure that we study the Word of God. A spiritual Leader in our house makes every day a joyous one because he takes on the roles of husband with such dignity and strength. So many things and some you can't even put in to words. I'm very Proud, Blessed, and Honored to call him my husband. He is my best friend and I love him with all that I am.   Bren

I copied this from a friend. It's very true in so many ways and I'm thankful someone could put into words what we go through as a Navy Spouse.

OUR NAVY MEN

It takes a special kind of woman to love our Navy men. A woman who can smile through her tears. Stay true through the long and lonely years. Who can love deep and true in spite of all her fears. It takes a special kind of woman to love our Navy men.

A woman who can stand to be alone. When little things go wrong she must not wail or moan. She must be strong as the deeply buried stone. It takes a special kind of woman to love our Navy men.

A woman who can be trusted to take a special care. When searching eyes pull to port, she must be waiting there. With open arms she should unite to make the perfect pair. It takes a special kind of woman to love our Navy men.

For it takes a special man to dedicate his life to others. To keep safe our friends, sisters, brothers, fathers and our mothers. To do the things he knows he must instead of what he’d rather. It takes a special kind of man to sail away from home.

To go far out to sea, to wander and to roam. To sail along above and below the ocean’s frothing foam. It takes a special kind of man to stand and to be proud.Even when surrounded by an angry hateful crowd. To do his job beneath that dark and threatening cloud. It takes a special kind of man to sail away to war. To sail home again never knowing what’s in store. To walk off that boat or ship and still love you to the core.

Yes it takes a special kind of woman to love our Navy men.
